Stock Picking 101 How We Find Hidden Value

How to Find Hidden Value

In this video, Chuck Carnevale, Co-Founder of FAST Graphs, a.k.a. Mr. Valuation and Professor Nathan Mauck, Phd. are going to show you our approach to value investing and how stock picking 101 is based on value investing principles and through the use of FAST Graphs! We actually don’t like to start with value, we like to start with fundamentals. Fundamentals first, value second.

We really want to understand the business and see if this is the kind of business that we would like to own part of, the kind of business that we have some confidence in that they have got a good competitive position and that they are generating positive cash flows and profits, that they are relatively safe in terms of their debt load. Those are all things that we want to know first before we start comparing price to value to try to see if it makes investing sense. Even if it’s a good company, it might not make sense from a value perspective, so value is important.
