In recent years, behavioral finance has become really popular. But taking a step back, one of the biggest questions I have about this field is -- “So what?” There are so many behavioral finance theories. But where is the practical application? What can we actually do with this stuff?

About our Guest

Bob Schmidt is manager of the Brandes Institute. The Institute is a division of Brandes Investment Partners that seeks to develop research to expand the investment community’s understanding of market behavior and portfolio management. He also is a part-time lecturer in the Master of Finance program at the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Frank Murtha is a behavioral finance expert and co-founder of MarketPsych, a behavioral financial consulting firm that also supplies data and analysis to financial advisors. He specializes in helping advisors apply behavioral finance to build relationships, increase AUM and improve returns.
