S&P 500 Snapshot: Down 2.17% YTD, Still Trending Up

The S&P 500 is down 2.17% in the first two weeks of 2022 and is 2.8% below its record close. Despite the slow start to 2022, the index seems to still be trending up.

The U.S. Treasury puts the closing yield on the 10-year note as of January 14 at 1.78% which is above its record low (0.52% on 8/4/2020). The 2-year note is at 0.99%.
