The following is in response to Michael Lewitts article, Boom and Bust, which appeared last week:
Dear Editor,
I was happy to read Michael Lewitt's piece in your most recent newsletter. All this time, I thought the dire state of our country's economic condition was, in large part, a reflection of the destruction of government budget surpluses and profligate spending on among other things an ill-advised expansion of the military budget under a two-term Bush administration. I was relieved to learn that, in fact, everything only recently went to hell-in-a-handbasket over the past year with the election of President Obama and a Democratic Congressional majority. I can sleep better at night now, knowing who the real villains are.
